FOLLOWING his tear down of Gianni Carpenter on Tuesday, Samuel Ince-Carvalhal returned the following night and took a come-from-behind victory against Rebecca Low in category ‘B’ of the Toucan Industries Junior Skills level squash tournament.
Makeda Harding is also up to two wins as well, after she defeated Sarah Lewis, and Maya Collins.
As play in the tournament continued at the Georgetown Club squash courts, the night saw matches in six of the eight categories being contested, on the third night of competition.
Apart from category ‘B’ matches also continued in ‘C’, ‘D’, ‘F, ‘G’ and ‘H’ categories.
Demonstrating an improved form, Ince-Carvalhal secured his second win, in as many games, by overcoming Low in four games ending 9-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-3. Against Carpenter he won 11-9, 11-9, 11-7. Carpenter, however, bounced back on Wednesday and won 11-8, 11-6, 11-5 against Lewis.
On Tuesday Low had picked up a straight-set win against Maya Collins triumphing 11-5, 11-6, 11-7, in her first match of the tournament.
Harding then dealt Collins her second defeat when she took her out 11-3, 11-7, 11-4.
Over in category ‘C’ Madison Fernandes is the first player to get to three wins, after she played to 11-7, 11-5, 15-13 against Lucas Jonas.
Dominic Collins succeeded against Jason Gomes 11-8, 11-9, 11-4, while Abosaide Cadogan continued her winning ways by whipping Aliyah Persaud 12-14, 11-7, 11-4, 11-5.
