THE Guyana Oil and Gas Association (GOGA) will be staging its first Oil and Gas Conference and Exposition set to take place at the Guyana Marriott Hotel on Sunday.

The event will promote long lasting business relationships and unlock possibilities that will deliver the ultimate business setting to succeed in today’s competitive hydrocarbons marketplace for the local and international partners, GOGA said in a release. According to the association, the Conference and exposition will bring together professionals with corresponding goals and visions for future success. A number of these companies and key stakeholders in the industry from around the world will be participating in this activity, which GOGA expects to be Guyana’s premier annual Oil and Gas event.

Commenting on the event, Chief Executive Officer of GOGA, Bobby Gossai, Jr. said, “This forum will provide the mechanism for information sharing to those who are interested in the development of the local oil and gas sector. The event will allow for the building of business collaborations to drive the growth of our new oil and gas sector and for all participants to be better able to understand the business of oil and gas for our world class reservoir. The three-day forum will give both individuals and businesses the opportunity to explore the areas of potential along the supply and value-chain of the oil and gas sector.”

Presentations and panel discussion will be made in areas such as technologies for offshore development, environmental, regulatory and safety standards, experiences from other territories, among others.

Minister of Natural Resources, Raphael Trotman, will deliver the feature address at the official opening ceremony on the evening of March 26. The Conference and Exposition is currently attracting participants from Guyana, Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Canada, USA and Norway, among other countries. The event has, as its major sponsors – Edison Chouest Offshore, Ernst & Young and Massy Energy.

The conference will commence at 8:30hrs the following day and will see presentations from companies such as INTECSEA, Ernst & Young, General Electric, TechnipFMC, Edison Chouest Offshore, among others.
