Vendor shot in heated argument

AN 18-YEAR-OLD vendor of North East La Penitence, Georgetown,was shot late Saturday night during a heated argument with an “identifiable” male.

The Guyana Police Force, in a statement on Sunday, said it is investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged shooting of Leon Blake.

The incident reportedly occurred around 22:25hrs at the Number 41 Bus Park, Croal Street, Georgetown.

“Enquiries disclosed that the victim and the suspect had an exchange of words inside of a minibus whilst they were passengers.
The victim was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC), where he was treated and admitted in a stable condition.

The suspect has not yet been apprehended.
