A man was on Tuesday remanded by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan, when he appeared before her charged with attempted murder.
Forty- three-year-old Shawn Filiicenc, was not allowed to plead to the allegation that on February 11, 2017, at Ewang, Potaro River, with intent to commit murder he injured Manuel De Santos.

Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail on the grounds that the virtual complainant is still hospitalised and is in a critical condition. The prosecutor added that De Santos was stabbed to the neck several times. The prosecutor also stated that Filiicenc was once charged with murder, but the case was dismissed. The matter was transferred to Mahdia Magistrate’s Court for April 18.
