POLICE in ‘B’ Division have ruled that the home invasion at Tain, Corentyne, Berbice on Tuesday was an execution and not a robbery.Police sources said there was no evidence to show that the incident that led to the death of a 45-year-old mother of three was a robbery.
The woman, Lilawattie Mohamed, a domestic worker, was at home with her 19-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter, when two masked gunmen barged into their house at approximately 23:30hrs on Tuesday night.
The men ordered the woman and her son, Ashad Ishack, to kneel on the floor, while the daughter hid under a bed.
The men asked “where the money at?” and when Lilawattie said she did not have any, one of the bandits placed the gun under her chin and shot her at point blank range. The bullet exited through her skull killing her instantly.
A post-mortem conducted on the body of Mohamed indicated that she died as a result of shock and hemorrhage, due to the gunshot wound.
The killers did not run out of the house, take anything or say anything after committing the gruesome act.
