CITY Magistrate Faith McGusty on Friday sentenced a man to 24 months imprisonment after he admitted stealing a laptop.Julian McRae admitted to the allegation which stated that on January 4, 2017 at Lamaha Springs, Georgetown, he stole one ASUS laptop worth $80,000, property of Tenesha Bristol.
In his explanation to the court, McRae said he saw the laptop in the house in which he resides, picked it up and took it to someone at Demico House, to whom he pawned it for $10,000.
When the magistrate asked what he did with the money, he replied:
“I just came out of a surgery, and my two children call and asked for money; and I pawn it for $10,000 and give them $5,000.”
