A TWENTY-ONE-year-old Brazilian man was fined $20,000 by the Chief Magistrate Ann Mc Lennan after confessing to a – possession charge.Gustavo Dos’Santas pleaded guilty to having 4.7 grams of cannabis in his possession on January 12 at Tabatinga, Central Rupununi.
According to reports, the police on patrol in the Tabatinga area saw the defendant acting in a suspicions manner and conducted a search,as a result of which the narcotic was found in his right-side pants pocket.
The chief magistrate fined the Brazilian $20,000,failing to pay which, he will have to serve four weeks in prison.
