Thief gets 35 months

A FATHER of five was on Thursday sentenced to 36 months imprisonment by Magistrate Faith McGusty after the completion of a trial in which he was found guilty for break and enter and larceny.Thirty- year-old Keion Crandon, of D’Urban Backlands, Georgetown, denied the allegation which stated that on October 5, 2016 at Sheriff and Enachu Streets, Section K, Campbellville, he stole from Dianna Panday: three gas bottles valued at $20,000 and a four-burner gas stove valued $50,000; a Dell desktop computer worth $200,000; a 42” television set valued $100,000; three flower vases worth $20,000 and articles of clothing to the tune of some $60,000.
According to the police report, on the day in question, Panday secured her residence and left for her place of business when Crandon invaded her residence. The police received information that Crandon had served a sentence before for simple larceny. According to the police, he was removing the said items from the house when ranks confronted him with the gas stove and several irons. He was arrested and later charged with the offence.
