recovery of their grandmother following their involvement in an accident around 01:45hrs on Tuesday on the Amelia’s Ward Hill in Linden.
Dead is Toushanna Frank, 28, of Amelia’s Ward, Linden. She was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mackenzie Hospital, while her mother, Paula Taylor, 51, who was at the time driving motor car PSS 6725, was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital in a critical state.
According to the police, Taylor was proceeding north on the public road when she lost control of the vehicle and collided with minibus BTT 766, which plies the Linden to Georgetown route.

causing a collision. He is currently warded at the Mackenzie Hospital, and said to be in a stable condition.
The other occupants of the motorcar were Frank’s two children, Jamica Chan, 10, and Darnelle Frank, four, both of whom were treated at the Mackenzie Hospital and sent home.
According to an eyewitness, Taylor was driving at a reasonable pace and in her lane when suddenly she changed lanes and collided with the front left hand side of the minibus.
“I was driving a li’l way behind, and all I see is this woman pick up a speed and change lane,” the eyewitness said, adding:

“To me, like she was trying to avoid a bump on top of the hill, but me ain’t know if she ain’t see the bus or what, ‘cause the place was dark.”
The accident occurred in the same vicinity where 10 persons died some time ago when the minibus in which they were travelling collided with a lumber truck.
According to Divisional Commander, Karim Baskh, investigations are ongoing.
The deceased in Tuesday’s accident has been described by friends and family members as an outgoing and vibrant person. She was a vendor at the Mackenzie Market.
