Guyana Cup rematch fixed for January 1 at RSTC

THE Jumbo Jet Auto Spares and Racing Stables, in collaboration with the Rising Sun Turf Club (RSTC), will stage its 3rd edition of the Guyana Cup horse race meet on January 1 at the club’s facility, Arima Park, West Coast Berbice.
Seven races are carded for the day with the feature event being one for horses classified `B’ and Lower over a distance of 1800m and the winner will be rewarded with $1.2M and a trophy. The second-, third- and fourth-place finishers will share $1.8M among themselves.
Animals classified `F 1’ and Lower will battle over 1400m for the top prize of $400 000 and a trophy.

Three-year-old horses will also contest a 1400m race and the winner will receive $350 000 and a trophy.
An 1100m race is on the card for Guyana-bred two-year-old horses and the winner will take home $260 000 and a trophy, while horses classified `JK’ and Lower will compete for a $200 000 first prize over a distance of 1100m.
Animals classified `L’ and Lower will compete for a first prize worth $180, 00 along with a trophy and they will do battle over 1100m.

The top jockey and runner-up as well as the top stable and champion trainer will also receive trophies and other incentives, compliments of Trophy Stall of Bourda Market and the organisers.
Entries close on Saturday.
