The impasse between the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and Darren Bravo could be at an end after it seemed headed for court before that.
The problems began after Bravo was offered a ‘C’ contract by the WICB, the lowest attainable central retainer, which the West Indies number-three refused.
In explaining the decision, WICB president, Dave Cameron spoke on SportsMax’s SportsMax Zone, about the batsman’s falling average, saying he couldn’t be kept on an ‘A’ contract with poor performances.

That fuelled an angry response from Bravo, who called Cameron a ‘big idiot’. He was subsequently sent home from a tour of Zimbabwe, and asked to delete the tweet and apologise.
There was no apology and the Tweet remained.
To add fuel to flames, Bravo sent a pre-action protocol letter to the WICB, informing the body of his intention to sue for unlawful dismissal.

The WICB, however, have taken a different tac, in the situation, offering to help Bravo to handle some of the pressures they believe he may be facing.
““The board has recognised that Bravo is a young man with immense cricketing talent but it believes he’s not dealing with issues in the right way at the moment,” said a source of the Trinidad and Tobago Guardian.

According to the WICB source, the cricket oversight body in the Caribbean is willing to provide counselling though his Queen’s Park CC.
“He is too much of a talent to be lost to West Indies cricket and the board is not saying that they are done with him,” said the source.
