Nand Persaud & Co. Ltd Sprint Classic set for tomorrow

IN light of the success of the first sprint classic event held by the entity, the principals of the Nand Persaud and Company Limited, known for its signature Karibee Rice Brand, in association with their Sky Plus Incorporated Promotion Company, will be holding their second Sprint Classic event tomorrow at the company’s racing facility at No 36 Village, Macedonia Estate, Corentyne Berbice. Starting time is 13:00 hrs.
To make sure things are well go well once again, the activity will be coordinated by the Sky Plus Incorporated.

The event, will once again see the horses run in a straight line from start to finish and is dubbed as the ‘Nand Persaud Karibee Sprint Classic’.
Distances to be contested will be between 880 and 440 yards.
Eight races are listed on the day’s card, with cash, trophies and other incentives totalling close to $4M up for the taking.
The main event will be an open affair with all horses allowed to participate over 880 yards for a winning purse of $400 000 and trophy.
The once-vaunted Score Even is back to try at the shorter distance but will have to compete against the likes of Honey Flow, Brave Sky, Golden Blue Echo, Perfect Windstorm, Score’s Even and Tiza Holiday.

The `G’ class horses will be galloping over 660 yards for a winning take of $250 000 and trophy. There is an event for horses classified `H’ and Lower also over 660 yards with the winner set to receive $300 000 and trophy.
Two-year-old Guyana-bred maiden animals will be racing over 660 yards for a $200 000 winning purse and trophy. Animals classified `J’ and Lower will also be catered for, as they will be running over 440 yards for a winner’s take of $240 000 and trophy.
The `K’ and Lower animals will have their opportunity to compete for $200 000 and trophy over 440 yards.
There are two `L’ class events over 440 yards. The first will be for a purse of $110 000 and trophy.
The `L’ class non-winners will also be galloping over 440 yards for a pole position reward of $100 000 and trophy.
