Remanded on murder charge

A MAN WAS remanded by Chief Magistrate Anne Mclennon for the murder of a Venezuelan national.
Twenty- one-year old boat operator Tony Rampersuad was not required to plea to the indictable charge which stated that on November 19, 2016 at Eteringbang Landing he stabbed Henry Mendonca.
According to a police report, the two who both reside in Venezuela came to Guyana and were drinking at Eteringbang Landing, when they had a misunderstanding. It was during the argument that Rampersaud is said to have broken a bottle and stabbed Mendonca twice to his abdomen.
He was taken to San Martin Hospital in Venezuela where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
