THE Cuyuni/Mazaruni mining community of Ekereku Top in Region Seven has been rocked by the double murder of 37-year-old Kurt Reynolds of Silverballi Road, Meadowbrook Gardens, Georgetown and his reputed wife Shelly Norton, which occurred on Sunday, November 13, at about 22:00 hrs.While details are sketchy, reports are that the two persons were involved in a domestic dispute stemming from accusations of infidelity, during which they wounded each other. Police say the woman inflicted chops to the man’s abdomen, and the man retaliated by wounding the woman, which subsequently caused her death.

Police say that when they visited the scene, the man was still alive, but after giving details of the incident, he succumbed to his injuries.
