THE Rising Sun Turf Club, in collaboration with the Jumbo Jet Auto Sales, will stage an eight-race meet on Sunday at the club’s facility, Arima Park, Rising Sun, West Coast Berbice.The feature event of the day is a 1600m race for horses classified E and Lower and carries a prize package of $1.2M and a trophy.
Horses classified G1 and Lower will contest a 1400m event, while animals classified H maiden and I and Lower will battle over 1100m for a winning prize package of $500 000 and a trophy.
There are several other 1100m races on the day’s card and one such is for two-year-old Guyana-bred horses and it carries a prize package of $500 000 also.
Another is a J class race with $350 000 and a trophy at stake, as is a `K’ class event that has a similar prize package.
Horses classified L and Lower will also contest a 1100m race but the prize package is worth $300 000 and a trophy.
The champion jockey, champion trainer and champion stable will also be rewarded, compliments of Trophy Stall of Bourda Market.
Closing date for entries is tomorrow.
