A TWENTY-FOUR-year-old resident of Bartica, Abraham Mohammed Khan, was found dead in a shallow grave around 16 miles on Wednesday.Commander of ‘F’ Division, Ravindradat Budhram, told the Guyana Chronicle that it appears as if Khan was hit to his head and there are no visible bullet-holes on the body.
This newspaper understands that Khan was reportedly robbed of his motorcycle and a quantity of raw gold from his employer’s mine prior to his death. At the time of the incident, he was transporting the gold to Bartica on behalf of his employer.
The commander noted that the Bartica police received information Wednesday morning and found the body in a shallow grave about 30 minutes away from the trail at 16 miles, Bartica. A post-mortem will be conducted today to identify the exact cause of death. Budhram also revealed that one man is in custody assisting with the investigation of the robbery and murder.
