YMCA cart off Jeet Brothers-sponsored dominoes

THE Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) led from the start and never relinquished the lead, as they emerged winners of the Jeet Brothers-sponsored dominoes tournament, played at their headquarters, Thomas Lands, Georgetown.The eventual winners tallied 79 games to win from Canal Six on 73 and International Six who trailed on 70.
It was all YMCA from the outset as they led off with 17 games, leaving Canal Six on 13 and International Six on a mere eight. Apart from the second sitting, when Canal drew within two games of the leaders, the hosts took complete control to romp home easy winners.
Rishi Das led for YMCA with 16 games while Brian Allen (15), Adit Singh (14) and Roger Browne (13) lent valuable support.
The top players for Canal Six were Scotty Ramroop with 15 games and Oudit Prittipaul and Kedar Seopaul with 14 each.
For International Six, there were 16 games for Martin Permaul, 15 for Soomdat Jeet and 14 for Navin Samaroo.
Trophies were presented to the winning and second-placed teams and the top player in each team, who were Das of YMCA, Ramroop from Canal Six and International Six’s Permaul. Members of the winning team also received caps, compliments of the sponsors.
The game was coordinated by popular dominoes enthusiast Manniram Shew. The Jeet brothers reside in New York and are currently holidaying in Guyana.
