LEADERS Lower Corentyne and second-placed East Coast Demerara (ECD) will square off tomorrow in a top-of-the-table clash for the next three days when the Jaguars Franchise League three-day competition enters the fifth round.Currently, the leaders are ahead of East Coast Demerara by 16.8 points, and will definitely start as favourites since they will be playing in their own backyard, the Albion Community Centre.
With four outright victories, Lower Corentyne accumulated 70.8 points, while ECD have so far earned 54 points from their three outright victories.
Those points are inclusive of batting, bowling and fast bowling wickets bonus points.
According to the playing conditions, a team can earn a maximum of five batting bonus points, and a maximum of three bowling bonus points, as well .1 for each fast bowling wicket.
Meanwhile, West Demerara are on third in the points standing with 45.2, followed by Essequibo (27.2), Georgetown (20.8), Upper Corentyne (18.7), West Berbice (17.5) and East Bank (16).
Other matches in the fifth round are: Upper Corentyne play Essequibo at the Port Mourant Community Centre ground, East Bank take on West Berbice at the Enterprise Busta Sports Club and Georgetown battle with West Demerara at Lusignan Community Centre.
