THE Pita Bar at Lot 5 Duncan Street, Bel Air Park, Georgetown officially opened its doors for business on Friday, and word is that the business intends to raise standards in the local food industry.Soon after the ribbon-cutting exercise, business owner Sean Major told the Guyana Chronicle that the pitas are baked fresh, and are not fried; prices are affordable, ranging between $900 and $1500; and all foods are prepared on site fresh, with five fillers of vegetables and three sauces for the pitas. Major disclosed that 99 per cent of the ingredients used are local, and the foods offered are 100 per cent halaal and are high in protein and low in calories.

Major said his business is a “made in Guyana” brand with a foreign expression. It provides all-day breakfast of pitas with eggs and sausages. A variety of salads are also available.

The bar has seven employees, and offers a delivery and ‘go to’ service.
The business is open on Monday to Thursday from 10:00 hrs to 21:00 hrs; and on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 hrs to 22:00hrs.
Major is the owner of chain restaurants at the Giftland Mall, besides the Publix Wing and Burger House located in Duncan Street, Georgetown.
