NET Rockers made up for their late entry to the competition with a 7-0 thrashing of Hi Stars behind Jewel Isaacs’ four-goal demolition while Milerock and Botafago played to a 1-1 stalemate when the Guyana Football Federation/NAMILCO Flour Power Under-17 football championship in Linden continued at the Wisburg Secondary School ground last Saturday afternoon.Playing in their first game, the Net Rockers side quickly asserted themselves through Isaacs who netted his first goal in the 15th minute before Linden Griffith sent the score to a 2-0 lead three minutes later. Then Isaacs got his second goal in the 21st minute and on the stroke of halftime it was 4-0 as Isaacs grabbed his third goal.
When play resumed after halftime, Isaacs was able to send his side further into the lead, scoring in the 69th minute before Griffith got his brace with another goal in the 62nd minute and Junior Thom closed things out for the winners with a goal in the 65th minute.
In the other game, Milerock were able to score first in the first half against Botafago through Raheem Angus but that game ended in a draw when Botafago were able to draw level in the second half although that scorer’s name was unavailable.The competition continues tomorrow at the Wisburg Secondary School ground with another double-header.
