A TWENTY-SEVEN-YEAR-OLD motorcyclist was killed on the spot in a collision with a mini-bus around 01:30 hrs on Sunday morning while he was returning home with his girlfriend on the Nismes Public Road, West Bank Demerara (WBD). Timothy Emueal Assing of Lot 4, Old Road, La Grange, WBD, was riding motorcycle CG 5615 with his girlfriend Salome Glasgow on the pillion when mini-bus BVV 2309 collided with them.
The father of one received a broken neck and other injuries, while his girlfriend was not seriously injured and was discharged from the hospital. The driver of the mini-bus was taken into police

Mother of the deceased, Collene Assing, told the Guyana Chronicle that her son who was the third of five children was returning home from Wales, WBD, after attending a social event with his girlfriend.
Timothy, a painter and trowel-tex applicator, returned from Barbados four years ago and was planning to revisit that country soon. Collene last saw her son Saturday evening when he was leaving with his girlfriend.
According to the mother, her son was a quiet and easygoing person and called on the police launch a full investigation into his death.
She also said that her son and his girlfriend were wearing safety helmets at the time of the accident.
Reports say that the mini-bus collided with the motorcycle in the wee hours of the morning after the bus was seen swerving on the roadway.
When the bus was pulled from a nearby trench after the crash, beer bottles were seen rolling out of the front seat.
