“Digicel has been a proud sponsor of Emancipation celebrations from the inception, and this year is no different. We have pledged a significant sum to the general management and execution of the event, which will feature Luciano as the performing artiste,” Abrams said.

Haynes expressed appreciation to Digicel for its continued support of the Emancipation Festival, this year and over the past years.

Under its mandate of corporate social responsibility, Digicel has been promoting cultural development and sustainability.
Over the past nine years of its operations in Guyana, Digicel has pledged support to special needs education, cultural and youth development, and many other areas of development.

With the recent passage of the Telecoms Bill in the National Assembly, Digicel’s Chief Executive Officer Kevin Kelly has commended the “laudable achievement” and noted that “a competitive sector will result in many benefits in terms of new and improved services for the people of Guyana”.
