Tennis Coach charged with hitting down aunt

GUYANA National Tennis Coach, Shelly Ramdyhan was released on $15,000 bail on Wednesday by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for allegedly hitting her aunt with a car.Ramdyhan, 43 of Hadfield Street, Lodge denied that she drove motor car PLL 1356 in manner which caused bodily harm to Elaine Daley on February 03. Ramdyhan’s attorney pleaded with the court for the single mother of three to be released on reasonable bail.

The lawyer further pointed out that Ramdyhan was parking her car in the driveway where Daley was standing. The court heard that Daley partially removed herself from the area but got hit by one of the mirrors of the car. The lawyer alleged that Daley threw an umbrella at Ramdyhan and assaulted her.

Police Prosecutor, Corporal Deniro Jones made no objection to the Tennis Coach being granted her pre-trial liberty. According to Jones, the victim is the aunt of Ramdyhan and both parties live in the same yard.

Bail was granted and the matter was transferred to Magistrate Dylon Bess for August 23.
