Bolt ready to run, invites fans to London for 200m

SIX-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt has declared himself fit and ready to run, confirming Friday that he will be competing at the London Anniversary Games in two weeks. The 29-year-old world record holder withdrew from the Supreme Ventures National Senior Championships in Kingston with a hamstring injury on Friday, July 1, causing concern for fans and officials alike, about whether he would be able to defend his Olympic 100m and 200 titles at the Olympic Games in Rio this summer.
However, having travelled to Europe to receive treatment from Dr Hans Muller-Wolfhart, Bolt is now ready to justify the medical exemption he was granted by the Jamaica Athletic Administrative Association (JAAA).
“This is Usain Bolt. Just want to tell everybody to come out and watch me at the London Anniversary Games on Friday, July 22. I’ll be there. I am excited to come back to London and I know it’s gonna be great, so fans come out and support,” Bolt said in a video posted on social media.
Bolt has been provisionally listed in Jamaica’s team to the Olympic Games and will have to prove his fitness if he is to make the cut and maintain his place on the team to Brazil.(Sportsmax.com)
