Gafoor’s PVC pipes get standards certification
The renewal certificate, which is valid for one year, was presented by Mr Al Fraser, Technical Officer II of the GNBS to PPL’s Plant Manager, Mr. Bharrath Rampersad in the presence of Ms. Zorina Armaugan, Production Assistant of PPL and Mr. Keon Rankin, Technical Officer I of the GNBS.

PLASTIC Products Limited (Gafoor’s) has once again been given the green light to affix the national standards mark to the Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) pipes it manufactures.The company was re-issued with a certificate by the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) under its Product Certification Scheme. This recent re-certification occurred at the company’s Land of Canaan manufacturing complex.
A re-certification audit conducted by the GNBS revealed that the pipes that Plastic Products Limited (PPL) manufactures continue to meet the requisite testing and quality requirements of the two National Standards: GYS 107 Specification for pressure–rated PVC pipes (SDR series) and GYS 99, Specification for PVC pipes Schedules 40, 80 and 120 under the GNBS Product Certification Scheme.
“The GNBS is proud of the commitment demonstrated by companies such as Plastic Products Limited to have their products certified to the requirements of national standards.
Other products certified to national standards are PVC pipes manufactured by Guyana Thermoplastics Limited and gold jewellery manufactured by Steve’s Jewellery,” Public Relations Officer Lloyd David noted.
