FOOTBALL action in the West Demerara Football Association continued recently with Den Amstel, Pouderoyen FC and Uitvlugt registering wins.

In the first game, Beavers and Wales United played to a nil-all draw with neither team managing to find that decisive goal.
Game two saw hosts Den Amstel, on the other hand, beat the Veggae boys by three goals to two. The Den Amstel side were led by Kevaughn Ward who netted twice (2nd and 21st minutes) to give his team the lead then advance before the end of the half.
In the second half, the Den Amstel side returned to see Paul Miggins’ 57th minute strike seal the game for them.
However, the Veggae boys responded with two quick-fire shots through Shemar Marcus’ 61st minute shot and five minutes later through Jermain Cumberbatch.
Try as they may for the equaliser, the Veggae boys could not find the decider.
Meanwhile, Pouderoyen FC made light work of Jetty Gunners beating them 4-0.
A brace by Morgan Denny (37th ;73rd) coupled with single strikes from Dwayne St.Kitts (75th) and Jermaine McDonald (79th) sealed the game for the Pouderoyen side
In the other game, a tight affair between Young Achievers and Uitvlugt resulted in the latter winning 1-0, the decider coming from Jamal Petty in the 58th minute.
Matches continue this Saturday and Sunday.
