THE Guyana Football Federation (GFF) NAMILCO Thunderbolt Flour Power Under-17 Nationwide tournament will continue this weekend with several matches in the various associations, all of which are expected to be highly competitive. In the West Demerara Football Association (WDFA), Slingerz FC will come against Wales today from 12:00hrs at the Den Amstel ground while on Sunday, Den Amstel will host Eagles from 12:00hrs. The other participating team in the WDFA are the Beavers FC.
In the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA), an action-packed double-header will take place when BV/Triumph United tackle Mahaica Determinators from 13:00hrs then Plaisance Panthers seek to spring a victory against Buxton United from 15:00hrs at the Golden Grove ground.
Tomorrow at the same venue, Buxton Stars will lock horns with Ann’s Grove from 13:00hrs then Buxton Youth Developers play Victoria Kings from 15:00hrs.
The EDFA will field ten teams, namely Plaisance Panthers FC, BV/Triumph United FC, Buxton Stars FC, Buxton Youth Developers, Bachelor’s Adventure/Paradise Sports Club, Golden Stars FC, Victoria Kings FC, Ann’s Grove United FC, Mahaica Determinators FC and Buxton United FC.
In the Georgetown Football Association, the popular and formidable clubs will have their youth teams on show with matches today and tomorrow at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) ground, Bourda.
Today’s action will kick off at 09:30hrs with an encounter between Order & Discipline FC and Eastveldt FC, which will be followed by an anticipated mega clash between the home side and Fruta Conquerors FC from 11:30hrs.
Both GFC and the Tucville-based Fruta Conquerors boast some of the most talented young players in the country and have well-established youth programmes.
Tomorrow, Santos FC tackle Camptown FC from 09:30hrs then Pele FC and Alpha United will face off at 11:30hrs.
