THE lifeless body of a 70-year- old man from Moruca in the North West District was fished out of a river in the community on Friday morning. Dead is Augustine La Cruz, a father of three of Hurridiah in the Moruca sub-region.Reports are that the man went missing on Thursday afternoon around 15:00 hrs, shortly after leaving the Aquero Post Office at Kumaka where he visited earlier in the afternoon to collect his old-age pension.
It was while he was returning home that the boat overturned in the Moruca waters. His slippers and the canoe were found floating in the river. His body is lying at the Kumaka District Hospital awaiting burial.
