THE Guyana Cycle Federation (GCF) has announced the dates that its national championship will be staged and advises that all interested cyclists must produce their licences for 2016 in order to be registered.According to a release, time trials for all categories of cyclists (Juniors, Ladies, Veterans and Elite) will be held on June 18 around the Mahaicony circuit, East Coast Demerara, beginning at 08:00hrs.
The following day (June 19), the Ladies, Juniors and Veterans will contest a road race that will see the juniors and veterans compete in a 50-mile race (8.5 laps around the Mahaicony circuit), while the ladies will contest a 25-mile race (four laps) around the same circuit.
The GCF’s national championships will conclude on June 26, with a 30-lap race (75 miles) around the outer circuit of the National Park, Georgetown, starting at 11:00hrs.
Presentation of prizes to the respective winners will be done at the conclusion of each event.
