THE Private Sector Commission has extended heartfelt sympathy to Mr. Sattaur Gafoor and the Gafoor family on the devastating losses suffered in Monday’s fire; and commiserates with all workers who have been rendered jobless by the conflagration.“This is not only a severe blow to the Gafoor family and their employees, but it is a national loss”, the commission has said.
“Gafoor’s was one of the foremost businesses in this country, and it will take a significant amount of time for them to recover from this setback,” the PSC said.
The body has assured the Gafoor family and the displaced workers that “our prayers will be with them as they seek to come to terms with this disaster.”
The massive fire, said to be electrical in origin, gutted the Gafoor’s business Complex at Houston, Greater Georgetown on Monday afternoon just as staffers were preparing to sign off work for the day, leaving in its wake billions of dollars in losses and hundreds of persons jobless.
Recorded as one of the largest and most costly fires in recent years, the conflagration reduced to rubble several bonds and electrical and other departments, including an administrative block of the hardware giant.
