Pouderoyen batter Vege Boys 9-2, Young Achievers blank Jetty Boys 3-0

POUDEROYEN United battered Vege Boys of Vergenoegen 9-0, while Young Achievers blanked Jetty Boys 3-0 when play in the West Demerara Football Association’s (WDFA)/STAG Beer League continued at the Den Amstel ground, West Coast Demerara last Saturday.In the Pouderoyen versus Vege Boys match, two players scored hat-tricks for the winning side, while another registered a double.
Morgan Denny scored in the 9th, 25th and 40th minutes for his hat-trick, while Troy `Rampant’ Allicock scored his with goals in the 20th, 22nd and 40th minutes.
Kwesi Alleyne netted a brace in the 30th and 43rd minutes. The other goal came off the boot of Dwayne St Kitts in the 27th minute.
Scoring for the Vege Boys were Alvin Benjamin and Shemar Marcus in the 32nd and 36th minutes respectively.
In the Young Achievers versus Jetty Gunners match, Lloyd Prince opened the scoring for Young Achievers in the 15th minute and made it a double in the 62nd minute, while Stephen Jupiter found the back of Jetty Gunners’ net in the 66th minute.
The win for Pouderoyen takes them to the top of the point standings with four points from two matches. They won one and drew the other. They have so far scored ten goals and conceded three.
Young Achievers are on three points from one match and are tied with Beavers who also have three points from one match.
Wales United have one point from a draw and are currently placed fourth.
The other three teams in the league are yet to register a point after completing one match.
The League will continue this weekend at the Den Amstel ground.
