Dear Editor,

BEING a private collector of historic British Guiana and Guyana items over the years, I just stumbled on one and only one photo image of “Youth Week”.It’s a historic event wherein schools would participate in road marches around the city, and take the salute at the Square of the Revolution.

Another similar historic event would be ‘Mass Games.’

In the face of Guyana’s impending 50th Anniversary Jubilee celebrations, in the month of May which begins very soon, I thought I should share the photo image as an educational tool and a reminder that the abovementioned events would have fallen within the 50 years since Independence celebrations.
