GUYANESE construction worker Kemraj Persad, 30, who lived at Hummingbird Avenue, Duncan Village, Trinidad & Tobago, was shot and killed in San Fernando on Monday.According to a report in the Trinidad Guardian, Persad was killed and another man critically injured in a shooting incident in San Fernando. The report quoted eyewitnesses who said that Persad, another man identified as Sean Boodoo, and the shooter were having drinks and liming at an apartment when an argument broke out and the suspect shot the two men.
Boodoo, who also lived at the same apartment, was shot in the chest and was listed in critical condition in San Fernando General Hospital.
A villager said he heard three explosions and thought they were caused by fire crackers, according to the Trinidad Guardian. He then saw a man running up the road with blood on his chest. Police said the shooter escaped in a car.
According to the report, residents said the men have been renting the apartment for over a year.
Meanwhile, another tenant, Kumar Shivprashad, pleaded for financial help to send Persad’s body back to Guyana, as he had come from a poor family.
