Wins for Order and Discipline, Black Pearl … Liliendaal Wolves held to 1-1 draw by Houston Stars

ORDER and Discipline Football Club climbed to the top of the point standings in the Georgetown Football Association’s (GFA) points table with a 2-1 win over Eastveldt, when the GFA’s Division One League continued on Saturday at the Georgetown Football Club ground with a triple-header.Seon Taylor and Clive John scored for Order and Discipline in the 33rd and 50th minutes respectively, while Mase Assanah pulled one back for Eastveldt in the 42nd minute.
On Saturday also, Black Pearl needled bottom-of-the-table Blackwater by a 1-0 margin to stay unbeaten in the League. Samuel Vandyke scored the winning goal in the 69th minute.
In the third game of the day, Liliendaal Wolves were held to a 1-1 draw by Houston Stars.
Clekswell Manson gave Houston Stars the lead with a 23rd minute goal but Liliendaal Wolves found the equaliser in the 69th minute through a Conrad Saul goal.
In the opening game, Taylor, who was always lurking in the opposition’s defence, raced onto a loose ball in Eastveldt’s 18-yard box and scooped the ball over the head of Eastveldt’s goalkeeper who was at the time rushing forward to get possession of the ball.
The lead was, however, shortlived as Eastveldt’s Mase Assanah netted the equaliser from the penalty spot.
Order and Discipline, however, secured the three points for the game when John collected a pass from Taylor and executed a powerful right-foot shot from inside the box into the left side of the goal.
Order and Discipline now move to seven points from three matches while Eastveldt remain fifth in the point standings with one point from a similar number of matches.
Black Pearl with their victory have seven points from their three matches, while Liliendaal Wolves move to second in the point standings with seven points also from three matches but they (Wolves) are way behind on goal difference.
Houston Stars have two points from three matches.
Action in the GFA Division One League will continue at the same venue this Sunday.
