CITY MAGISTRATE Dylon Bess yesterday released a 20-year-old woman on self-bail after she appeared before him, charged with stealing her aunt’s $100,000 gold bracelet.Celeina Doodnauth is accused of stealing Davie Persaud’s bracelet between April 3 and 4 at their Ruimveldt home. She denied the allegation.

According to the charge, on April 3, Persaud hid the gold bracelet inside her mattress and left the home. The next day the virtual complainant made checks for her jewellery and discovered that it was missing.

The matter was reported to the police and Doodnauth was arrested. The young woman admitted that she had stolen her aunt’s bracelet.

The prosecutor did not object to bail being granted and Doodnauth will return to court on May 9.
