SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD Ramdat Singh Jr, was Saturday morning shot to his jaw at the Rosignol Market, after two men armed with guns robbed his father’s jewellery stall of an undisclosed quantity of gold.According to ‘B’ Division Commander Ian Amsterdam, one person is in custody assisting police with the investigation.
According to police, around 06:30 hrs, the boy’s father Ramdat Singh Sr, 42, was making preparations to open his business when the men pounced on them, demanding gold.
A bag was handed over with jewellery and one of the perpetrators discharged a round, which struck Ramdat Singh Jr to his jaw and the men fled.
Singh was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital and is said to be in a stable condition. The bullet has been removed from his jaw.
