GUYANA’S Golden Jaguars will line up in Group three of the second round of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) 2016 Scotiabank Caribbean Men’s Cup Championship.According to a release from the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) yesterday, the Jags will face Curacao on June 1 in Guyana and the United States Virgin Islands (USVI) on June 7 in that country.
In Round One of the tournament Guyana topped Group five after defeating Anguilla 7-0 and Puerto Rico 1-0 in Guyana and Puerto Rico respectively.
The Round Two commences on June 1 and in addition to the Guyana match, the other matches to be played on that day are: Grenada vs Puerto Rico at the Grenada National Stadium; Martinique vs Guadeloupe at Stade Pierre Aliker (Martinique); French Guiana vs Bermuda at the Stade Dr Edmard Lama (French Guiana) and St. Kitts & Nevis vs Suriname at the Warner Park Stadium (St Kitts).
Round Three is scheduled for October 3-9 and will consist of four groups, each with three countries. Thereafter the Fifth Place playoff will be held November 7-15 and the Final in May 2017.
The top three of this tournament will qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
