EASTER Monday ended tragically for a Bartica family when their 15-year-old relative drowned during an outing with friends at Agatash in the Cuyuni-Mazaruni area of Region Seven.Dead is Lenon Fredrick of One Mile, Bartica. The Grade Nine student of Three-Mile Secondary School was fished out of the water a short distance from where he went swimming, and was pronounced dead at the district hospital.

The Guyana Chronicle understands that the lad, with friends, was visiting ‘Dog Point’ in Agatash, and did not heed his mother’s advice not to venture into the deep, since he could not swim.
