… Free access to children for all football matches across Guyana

THE Guyana Football Federation (GFF) yesterday, in an effort to boost youth attendance at football matches, launched its ‘Youth Ticket Initiative’.At the launch held at the Sophia Special School the GFF expressed the hope that ultimately the initiative will lead to greater participation in the game.

President of the GFF, Wayne Forde, told the gathering of students and representatives from the Ministry of Education that his Federation took an executive decision, which will see children 12 years and under being admitted free at all football matches, and up to 17 years old will pay no more than $500.

A directive, Forde said, will be sent to its members and affiliates, detailing the Executive Committee’s decision.
With Guyana set to begin their 2016/2017 Caribbean Football Union (CFU) Caribbean Cup against Anguilla at the Guyana National Stadium, the GFF has presented a quantity of tickets to the students of the Sophia Special School and the top eight schools from Petra Organisation/Milo Football Tournament to attend the March 22 event.
