Guyana blasted their way into the quarter-finals at the `Peru Under-19 Junior International World Ranking tournament held in Lima, Peru at the Regatas Club Badminton Courts.
Sunburst World Ranked Player and National Junior and Senior Champion of Guyana Narayan Ramdhani reached the quarter finals in the Boys Singles by defeating Gabriel Urteaga Hammond: 21- 11, 21-14.
He then teamed up with No. 2 National Junior Player Jonathan Mangra, to reach the quarter finals in the Boys Doubles by defeating Mariano Novoa and Gustavo Alfredo Salazar: 21-17, 21-14.
This is Ramdhani’s first International tournament for 2016, after recovering from a knee ligament injury he picked up at the Suriname Open International late November 2015.
The tournament continues this evening with the quarter finals and the Medal Round.
Jonathan Mangra lost his Singles match to Mariano Novoa: 17-21, 21-12, 18-21.
