Cell phone ‘thief’ remanded

ROBBERY accused Calvin Accra, 20, of 340 Cummings Street, Alberttown, Georgetown, was on Thursday remanded to prison after he appeared before City Magistrate Allan Wilson to answer an allegation that, on Republic Day at South Cummingsburg, he stole from Karen La Fleur one Samsung Galaxy S5 phone valued at $120,000, a silver purse worth $5,000, one Prada cream set valued at $20,000, and $4,000 in cash.He also allegedly stole from Julia Mackey one iPhone6, valued at $185,000.

The facts of the matter were not stated, but Accra is expected to return to court on February 26.
