A MECHANIC was on Monday remanded to prison after being charged with threatening to kill a woman and having an unlicensed gun and ammunition in his possession.Thirty-year-old Ronald Seebachan, of West Coast Berbice, pleaded not guilty to the three charges read to him by city Magistrate Judy Latchman.
The charges stated that on February 21, 2016, at Aranka Junction,Seebachan threatened to kill Kendall Williams.
Seebachan, was also charged for having one unlicensed .38 revolver and two 9mm live rounds of ammunition in his possession, without having the necessary licences for the gun and ammo.
Police Prosecutor Kerry Bostwick objected to bail on the basis that no special reasons were offered to the court in relation to the firearm and the ammo. He also stated that the safety of the virtual complainant was paramount, since Seebachan had threatened to kill her.
The matter was adjourned until Friday, when Seebachan will make his appearance in court.
