BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – Barbados Pride defeated the Windward Islands Volcanoes by an innings and 56 runs within the first 20 minutes of play on the fourth and final day of their WICB Regional Professional Cricket League first-class sixth-round match at Kensington Oval here yesterday.
Resuming on the final day from 134 for seven overnight, still 66 runs in areas, the Volcanoes surrendered meekly, losing their last three wickets for only 10 runs in 4.3 overs to be all out for a meagre 144 runs.
Fast bowler Miguel Cummins had both Shane Shillingford and Kenroy Peters caught by wicketkeeper Shane Dowrich for 17 and five respectively to finish with three for 42 in 11.3 overs.
Off-spinner Ashley Nurse, the only other bowler used today, took the other wicket to fall, trapping Mervin Matthew leg-before-wicket for four as the batsman attempted to sweep.
