Night two full of close shaves in Guinness football

THE second night of the West Coast/Bank and East Bank Zone of the Guinness Greatest In Da Street had close victories by all eight victors at the Pouderoyen Tarmac on Saturday.Champion Boys bounced backed with a 1 – 0 victory over Water Street Agricola as Kevin Rahat registered the lone goal in the 13th minute.
Showstoppers eased past Patentia Street Ballers 2 – 0 with a third-minute goal from Owen McGarrel and a late second half goal from Marvin Josiah (25th).
Crane Raiders’ 1 – 0 win over De Kinderen United came on the back of goal scored in the 14th minute by Kevon Jones.
Comfort Ballers registered an eventful 1 – 0 win over Samaroo Dam as Mark Boyce scored in the 11th then the following minute Nathan Allicock picked up a rare red card following a spitting incident the next minute.
Eon Alfred scored in the 11th minute for Bagotstown Warriors who needled Harmony Ballers while Gadi Hoyte’s goal in the seventh was all it took to win against Best Road Ballers.
Agricola Upsetters claimed their second win with a 1 – 0 results over Shattaville Gunners. Jermin Jefford scored the decider in the eight minute.
Meanwhile, West Side Ballers and Harmony Ballers ‘B’ went down to penalty kicks to separate the two sides.
As keeping with the rules of the tournament, it went down to penalty kicks to decide a winner after the match ended 1 – 1 at the final whistle.
Harmony drew first blood in the 16th minute through a Keifer Adams strike but Morgan Denny equalized in the 23rd which put them right back in the game. However, it was Harmony Ballers ‘B’ that prevailed 1 – 0 in the penalty shootout.
