THE MINISTRY of Communities, working along with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, has helped the Georgetown Mayor and City Council (M&CC) to map out a ‘Municipal Development Plan’.Such a plan would assist the M&CC to coordinate all of its activities within Georgetown and other areas, Town Clerk Royston King said recently.
“They (government) brought in consultants from Canada and other places to help the various municipalities, and to provide a guide on how we can develop and advance the interest of the municipality,” King explained.
A questionnaire was served out to all councillors for them to rank in order of priority the various services that are needed. The report was developed based on councillors’ feedback.
The document has already been made accessible to the City Council.
