TORONTO-based, Guyana-born Ahmed Ally, known as ‘Prince Ally’ to fans around the world, has produced more albums and songs than any other local artiste. With 15 albums under his belt spanning different genres, from Reggae, Soca, Chutney to even Gospel, this Berbician who has been producing, song-writing, and performing for over 30 years on both local and international stages is currently back home. He has released another album, called “Bridge Over Troubled Waters”, which is a Reggae compilation of 16 tracks, and he says it has a mix for the middle-aged with songs like: “Our Own Song”, “ Hello”, “People of the World”, “Ethiopian Rock” and many others.
Ally is back from Toronto, and is preparing to perform for the 50th Jubilee Celebrations. And in his interview with The Buzz, he joked about being six years older than our Independent Nation.
Ally has worked with international artistes such as Sizzla, Sean Paul, Beenie Man and other singers known to international audiences. He has produced songs for renowned Guyanese artistes Mark Holder, Pamela Maynard and Sammy Baksh.
