THE ten Guyanese lads who left the country in September of last year (1965) to join the British Army are now full-fledged Privates attached to the King’s Own Royal Border Regiment.
And at their Passing-out Parade, held in December (1966), one of their number, Private Semple, was awarded the signal honour of receiving three prizes, one of which was for being the best all-round recruit for the year.
Seen here, from left, are eight of the ten lads, namely Locke, Singh, Williams, Semple (with prizes in hand), Murray, Simon, Sardinha, and Puddicombe.
