OLYMPIAN Winston George has expressed delight with setting Guyana’s first 300 metres indoor record on Sunday in Manhattan, New York.George competed at the New Balance sponsored indoor meet at the Armory Track Club facility. The 400 metres specialist clocked 33.5s to set the record while finishing second in the event.
“It was a really good race I was comfortable and I just reacted to my competition, I was not doing any speed work so for my coach it was really about seeing where I am at the moment and I think It was great, I have no problem with the time or the race I just felt comfortable,” George told Guyana Times Sport.
“Man it feels good to be in the record books, I like making my country and myself proud and that’s what I want to continue doing, I just love putting my name in the books and it feels good to be honest, I am just comfortable right now,” George said.
George is currently in the United States preparing for the Rio Olympics. (Sportsmax.com)
