A LINDEN farmer was on Thursday remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan after being charged with possession of cannabis (ganja).
Quincy DaSliva, 28 of Block 22 Wismar, Linden denied the allegation which read that he, on January 20, at Sunflower Street, Wismar had 40 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones requested that the accused be refused his pretrial liberty since no special reason was raised by DaSilva for the granting for bail.
Bail was denied and DaSilva had his matter transferred to the Linden Magistrate Court for February 3.
