AN egg-ball vendor was yesterday remanded to prison after he was reportedly found with over 600 grammes of cannabis in a house at Yarrow Dam.Jermaine Rowe, 36, of Laing Avenue, West Ruimveldt, pleaded not guilty to the trafficking in narcotics charge when it was read by the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
The charge alleged that Rowe had 606 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking on January 19. According to reports, on the day in question, ranks from the police narcotics unit acting on a ‘tip-off’ went to the Yarrow Dam residence and conducted a search. The drug was found in the living room concealed in a haversack and when Rowe was question he admitted to the ownership of the drugs.
The vendor will make his next court appearance on February 19.
